Before We Meet
Thank you for taking the time to meet with us. We believe the first meeting should be about understanding your organization, not about trying to sell you something or fix technical issues on the spot.
Our goal is to determine whether we're a good fit for each other.
Why You'll Be Meeting With a Manager
Your first meeting will usually be with our owner or Operations Manager, not a salesperson or technician. We want the people responsible for our company, our clients, and our service standards to be involved in your organization's potential onboarding from the very beginning. It also gives you an opportunity to ask questions directly to the people responsible for how Bowes IT operates.
We believe that's a better experience for everyone than handing you off to a sales representative who disappears after the contract is signed. After all, the people accountable for your experience should be involved from day one.
What We'll Talk About
We'll spend most of our time learning about your organization.
We want to learn things like:
- How your business operates
- Your staff and how they use technology
- Current frustrations
- Business goals
- Security concerns
- Existing IT support
- Projects you're considering
- What you like, and don't like, about your current environment
This conversation helps us understand your business before we ever recommend technology.
What We Won't Be Doing
This meeting will not be a technical support meeting. We don't want to get bogged down in troubleshooting computers, fixing printers, configuring Microsoft 365, diagnosing networks, or trying to solve technical problems during the meeting. There are two reasons for this:
- Discovery meetings work best when they're focused on understanding your organization instead of getting pulled into individual technical issues and
- Not every meeting includes one of our senior technical staff. We intentionally separate discovery from technical work so every prospect receives a consistent experience.
If technical questions come up (they usually do), we're happy to note them and arrange for the appropriate technical person to address them separately if needed.
What You Can Expect From Us
During our meeting, we'll listen far more than we'll talk. We're not interested in convincing every organization to become a client.
If we believe we're a good fit, we'll explain how we think we can help.
If we don't think we're the right choice, we'll tell you that too.
We'd rather be honest from the beginning than promise something we can't deliver.
How You Can Help
You don't need to prepare a presentation.
Simply be ready to tell us:
- What your organization does
- What is working well today
- What isn't working
- Where you'd like things to improve
- Any concerns you have about your current IT support
The more openly we can talk, the more valuable the meeting will be.
We Look Forward to Meeting You
Whether or not we end up working together, we hope you'll leave the meeting with a clearer understanding of your options and confidence that you've been treated with honesty and respect.
That's how we believe great business relationships should begin.
