Are you looking for a way to stay connected to your team during the Covid-19, or any other crisis for that matter? Microsft Teams may well be your best bet.
Microsft Skype for Business is being retired on July 31, 2021, and like Edge replaced Internet Explorer, Microsoft Teams will fill the gap left by Skype for Business. Teams, however, rivals Slack in functionality and is a much more advanced platform than Skype for Business is.
If you, like many of our clients, have a Microsoft Office 365 for Business subscription, you are almost certainly already paying for Teams. Zoom is a great way to stay connected but Teams offers a whole lot more and, there is no additional cost. There is also a free version of Teams available if you’re not an Office 365 subscriber.
With the free flavor of Microsoft Teams, you get unlimited chats, audio and video calls, and 10GB of file storage for your entire team, plus 2GB of personal storage for each individual. Microsoft Teams integrates with all the Office Online apps, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote, and with more than 140 business apps. Add as many as 300 people to your network of contacts, who can be inside or outside your organization.
Teams lets you:
- Chat with team members
- Video conference with your team
- View and edit scheduled meetings
- Share and edit documents
- Connect to SharePoint sites
- Allow guest access
- Interact with Office 365 groups and their associated email and calendars
- Use a whiteboard
- and more
There are versions of Teams for Andriod and iOS as well.
